Offline – Cash transactions:
Cash remains widely used across Cambodia, especially in traditional markets and rural areas. Both the Cambodian Riel and the US Dollar are commonly accepted, while digital payment adoption continues to expand nationwide.
Online – KHQR / Bank Transfer:
KHQR accounted for approximately 47% of Cambodia's e-commerce payments in 2024, making it the country's leading online payment method. By the end of 2024, 69 financial institutions supported KHQR payments, enabling broad payment coverage and seamless collections through local banking channels.
Digital Wallet:
Digital wallets are increasingly used for everyday purchases, bill payments and fund transfers. Through the Bakong ecosystem, users can access over 30 million bank accounts and e-wallets, while more than 4.5 million merchants accept KHQR payments nationwide. Leading providers such as Wing Bank, TrueMoney and Pi Pay further expand payment acceptance and support convenient collection and payout services.
